Wicked Good Benefits

Sisters Wicked Good Soap curing a batch of sandalwood soap

Soap is made by combining a fat with an alkali which during the saponification process, turns into soap and glycerin. Through the years this process has been over complicated and the end product slightly altered by mass production. For example there are some commercial soaps that remove the glycerin and to use in other products. And others can contain harsh chemicals or alcohol that can irritate or dry the skin. But in handmade soap, there are no harsh chemicals and the glycerin remains in the soap providing deep moisturizing benefits.

Now Add Goat’s Milk!

Goat’s milk is amazing! It contains alpha-hydroxy acids such as lactic acid these acids help remove dead skin cells leaving your skin smoother and younger looking. Removing dead skin cells will also help many skin conditions by removing irritation.

Goat’s milk contains many healthy ingredients to nourish skin. These include vitamins A, C, E and some B vitamins, along with amino acids, citric acid, enzymes, unsaturated fatty acids and zinc.

And goat’s milk contains caprylic acid, which makes the soap an alkaline product.  The low pH, (close to that of human skin) allows better delivery of moisture and nutrients from the soap and prevents dryness.
